After concluding its first and second evaluation phases last February and March 22, 2022 respectively, the Regional/Inter-Agency Technical Evaluation Committee (RTEC-IATEC) evaluators are set to resume their assessment on another batch of SETUP, iFWD PH, and local GIA project proposals this coming April 19.

The Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) is one of DOST’s flagship programs that aims to provide S&T assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through technology acquisition or financial assistance.

Last March 22, the evaluation was graced by the former Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations Dr. Lydia Manguiat and was attended by DOST-CALABARZON’s current top management namely, Engr. Francisco R. Barquilla III, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations; Ms. Lyn A. Fernandez, OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Finance and Administrative Services; Ms. Gilda de Jesus, Provincial Director of PSTC-Cavite; Ms. Felina Malabanan, Provincial Director of PSTC-Batangas; Ms Janice Berris, Head of the Planning Unit.

A total of 28 proposals have been evaluated thus far—eight (8) proposals for the month of February (5 SETUP and 3 iFWD proposals) and 20 proposals last month (8 proposals under the GIA, 11 for SETUP, and 1 for iFWD) —most of which came from the food sector in the region. Proponents are urged to submit their project proposals before the panel evaluation schedules and are assessed in terms of the firm’s management or administrative aspect, technical aspect, financial aspect, marketing aspect, and socio-economic waste disposal. Afterwards, applicants shall submit their revised proposals based on the recommendations of the RTEC-IATEC team.

The RTEC-IATEC evaluations are still ongoing until August 9, 2022. Want to learn more? Contact our Provincial S&T Center (PSTC) nearest to you through their Facebook pages:
